SkeptiCamp is like a science conference, except that the content is provided by the attendees themselves! Some prefer to call it an "unconference" for that reason. PLEASE NOTE: Admission is $15 and includes a t-shirt. Register at www.SkeptiCampNYC.com.

It is based on a successful model of gatherings referred to as "BarCamp", which have primarily focused on technology. Our conference will focus on topics related to science, critical thinking, and other notions that appeal to a skeptical crowd.

Conventional conferences tend to follow a standard pattern of linear presentation, followed by Q&A. We hope the "presentations" made at SkeptiCamp NYC are more like lively discussions, than straight seminars. Presenters could welcome the bombardment of questions, after their initial introduction to the topic is made. Topics that interact with the audience are encouraged.

SkeptiCamp is intended for adults, though young adults can also join us, if they'd like. Anyone who can be in the New York City area, at the given date and time is invited to join and perhaps even present something for discussion!

The event will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. For more information, please visit the official SkeptiCamp Web site: www.SkeptiCampNYC.org
